May 6, 2008

I have several friends with blogs, and it seems to be a really great way to keep distant family and friends informed.....so here we go.

Richard Jr. recently turned the big ONE! We had a "barnyard bash" at our house, including pin the tail on the pig, a cow cut-out, an egg hunt, a tractor cake, cowboy hats, and a mini hayride. All of Richard's cousins and a few second cousins came. It was a lot of fun.

My sister, Janey, made the pin the tail on the pig and I made the cow. I think the hayride was actually the biggest hit, though! Richard grilled hot dogs and I made pigs in the blanket and tater tots.

My parents and siblings came...except Jennifer. She had prior obligations that day. Check out the boots that my parents gave Richard Jr. You can see them in the picture of him in the wagon. They are too cute!

We also had some pictures taken by Jonathan Bean (the son of a man I work with) for Richard Jr.'s ONE year pictures. Here are a few of my favorites:

It's hard to believe that my baby boy is already a year old. Time is flying by so fast! He is so much fun, and he is a very loving child. His babysitter said that he likes to give everyone hugs and the other kids don't really like it because he holds on too long! I think it's sweet, though! He also takes things from the other kids. He will take cookies out of their mouths! He is the youngest one there, so I think the other kids need to learn how to hold their own and not be bullied by a baby! Okay, okay, I am going to work on teaching him that he can't have EVERYTHING. But still, I think it is rather funny! He is definitely a go getter, and he is very persistent!

Well, I guess this is plenty for one post! I hope to update this regularly to keep people informed on what our family is up to!
